BackLap Terms of Service

Last updated: July 25, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BackLap (the "Service"), operated by BackLap LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("BackLap," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

BackLap is a web-based software tool that helps golf course maintenance operations track equipment, service history, and related records. Features and pricing may change over time as the Service is developed further.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@backlap.dev if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Accounts are created and managed at the course/organization level. An administrator for a course account is responsible for managing which individuals have access under that account and at what permission level.

3. Subscription and Payment

BackLap is offered as a paid subscription service, billed monthly, at the rate displayed on backlap.dev at the time of signup. We may change our pricing going forward; if we do, we'll provide reasonable notice before the change applies to your account. Payment is processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor — BackLap does not directly collect or store your full payment card details.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future billing; it does not automatically entitle you to a refund for the current billing period unless otherwise stated at the time of cancellation.

4. Your Data

You retain ownership of the data you and your organization input into BackLap (equipment records, service logs, notes, photos, and similar content — "Customer Data"). You're responsible for the accuracy of the Customer Data you enter. We will not sell your Customer Data. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data.

You're responsible for maintaining your own backups or exports of critical records to the extent you rely on them for business-critical purposes; while we take reasonable measures to protect and back up data (see our Privacy Policy), no service can guarantee against all possible data loss.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts or data; interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation; or use the Service to store or transmit content that infringes on others' rights.

6. Intellectual Property

BackLap and its underlying software, design, and branding are owned by us and are not transferred to you by these Terms. You're granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your internal business purposes for as long as your subscription is active.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. BackLap is a record-keeping and tracking tool — it does not replace professional judgment regarding equipment maintenance, safety, or repair decisions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BackLap LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service, with reasonable notice where practical. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll provide reasonable notice (such as posting an update on this page or notifying account administrators). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
