BackLap Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BackLap ("BackLap," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by BackLap LLC, an Arizona limited liability company, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our software (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you or your organization creates an account, we collect an email address and basic profile information (such as name and role — admin or technician).
Course/organization information: The name of your golf course or organization, and account-level settings.
Equipment and service data: Information you enter about machines/equipment (make, model, specs, photos, notes) and service history (service logs, dates, notes) — collectively, "Customer Data."
Payment information: Payment is handled by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. BackLap does not directly collect or store your full payment card number — Stripe processes and stores that information under its own privacy and security practices.
Usage information: Standard technical information such as log data and device/browser information, collected automatically to help operate and secure the Service.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to: provide and maintain the Service; authenticate accounts and enforce access permissions; communicate with you about your account or the Service (such as service updates or support responses); and improve and troubleshoot the Service.
We do not sell your information or Customer Data to third parties, and we do not use your Customer Data to train unrelated products.
3. How We Share Information
We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Service, currently including our database/hosting provider (Supabase), our application hosting provider (Vercel), and our payment processor (Stripe) for billing. These providers only access information as needed to perform their function for us.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BackLap or others.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure with access controls that restrict each organization's data to authorized users within that organization. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and Customer Data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we may retain data for a reasonable period afterward (for example, to allow reactivation or to comply with legal obligations) before deleting it. You can request earlier deletion by contacting us.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can access, update, or correct most of your account and Customer Data directly within the Service. You can request that we delete your account and associated data, or provide you a copy of it, by emailing support@backlap.dev. We'll respond to reasonable requests in a reasonable timeframe.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll provide reasonable notice (such as posting an update on this page). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Contact Us
